>>53128173>The end of the sprite based era>Where older games added gameplay mechanics (day/night, weather, natures, etc.), this marks the switch to gimmicks (megas, Z moves, dynamax)>Introduction of the Fairy (worst) type as an overcorrection rather than simply rebalance older types (which they did, albeit halfway).>Arguably the beginning or tipping point of the more simplified, nu-Pokemon designs>y-you're just biased!!No, there are things I like about these games.
>Rollerblading was great>Character customization finally>Some kino Pokemon mixed in (Fossil lines, Heliolisk, Chesnaught)Very good, HOWEVER! This was the tipping point where I found the new content to be more bad than good, and would sacrifice the things I like from Gen 6 onward to delete it all entirely and start over. I don't even particularly like Gen 5 that much because of some of the new designs and power creep so don't take this as me pushing Unova either - but it's at least more recognizably a true Pokemon experience.
