The final battle theme is also what gave me my love for video game music in all its forms, walking into that final room as a 5 year old and hearing that intro blare out as fast and intense as it is was mindblowing. The games in general have really good music.
It's a bit more open-ended than the following games by being able to do most of the gyms in your own order
Team Rocket is probably my favorite team in that they're the most realistic, a mafia, and the game portrays this through their team rosters, their designs with the whip, and all the dialogue talking about the black market shit they do
And most importantly it's not fucking X and Y which is a compliment for most games
