I used to go in an steal 20-30 packs at a time by shoving them into my peacoat pockets in aisles where there where no cameras. I also did by a decent amount of things while I was there, as to not raise suspicion too high. Even managed to pay only a dollar for several packages of hidden fates special boxes by attaching a barcode from a bottle of powerade and going into self checkout. Made like 300+ dollars in a 4 month timespan by selling to the local card shop, and that's just off the money I made off cards that I DIDN'T want to keep. Full arts, rainbow rares, gold secret rares, shiny full arts out the fucking ass. Did the same with Yu-Gi-Oh, but the cards are less pretty and I had less incentive to sell, since I actually play that game. Also, you can steal official packs from stores like dollar tree and family dollar, but you have to be more careful in smaller stores like that.
Tl;dr, you CAN make pretty good profit by stealing cards, you just need to make sure it's the right shit and that you're careful about it. I've have friends get into serious trouble by stealing a lot less from the target I used to frequent.
