People HATED Hoenn Victory Road since it required far too many HMs, was confusing to navigate, and if you were playing RS you'd have the double battle with Ace Trainer's Katelynn and Quincy and the battle with Wally back to back, so you're fucked if you didn't carry healing items with you. Luckily, they fixed the last complaint in Emerald by inserting the Wally Battle at the start instead. The Hoenn region is well connected and the routes are very fun, but the RSE Victory Road was ass.
