>>47682307they can and do have edgy pokemon in the franchise, but there is a limit. and i dont agree for the same reason. i believe that having a good selection of both edgy and cutesy mon is what has lead to the longevity of the franchise compared to digimon and yugioh, clear ripoff companies. all their designs are way too edgelord, or sexualized for teen males. i think what were gonna find is that its not best to just target pokemon, because at this point it has crossed a generation and the people who grew up to love pokemon are now having kids that are growing up doing the same. if you want to have a crowd stay for the long run, casting a big net is the best(clearly and obviously). but there are aspects of the franchise that are too childish, and some that are more fun for teens and adults.
I dont think this is or will be a franchise "just for kids" as with the rampant desire for people to nuzzlocke to get replay value and challenge out of a game. we may see a pokemon game that has a difficulty setting when playing. but like i said once again, this is to appeal to the people that are willing to stick around with the franchise.
kids can stick to the anime and easy mode on games. while adults just enjoy not so fucking childish aspects of the series.
