Disappeared for a bit, back.
To progress in the game you need to talk to some guy named Carl that acts as a Bill substitute; not sure what disorder he has but one is definitely there. He has good taste in vidya at least.
After talking to him we can go forward, getting to our rival battle. Our rival drops some not-so-subtle hints that he admires Team Quarry, tells me to fuck off, and battles me.
His team consists of Gastly (small world), Poliwag, Onix, and Exeggcute.
He seems to have some mental instability, because when I beat him he talks about how he feels a breakdown and says he's going to find "some cool Team Quarry members to hang out with." I guess he's on their side now.
