>>39362464>>39363171Like I said, Pathfinder is just what I know. I've had experience with 5e Homebrew and a little bit of 4e but I personally like Pathfinder cause I've played it the most and had the best memories with it.
I'm not about to learn a new Edition just so I can fuck it up with custom adaptations of Pokemon logic into a tabletop setting. I'd rather do that with rules I'm familiar with.
Either way it goes, I can make stuff up on the spot since I plan on DMing this campaign. I can translate items from Pokemon to D&D and vice versa or even implement new items to the Mystery Dungeon setting that take inspiration from fake leaks or just pure imagination.
Remember the shitty Type-based armor rumor for SwSh? It was supposed to make the Pokemon holding it count as that corresponding Type defensively, while still having normal STAB. I could easily fit that into the Kecleon Shop. Or making confusion work like it does in the games, where you roll a d8 and perform the action in a corresponding direction.
I'm not a tabletop genius or anything, just a player who wanted to give DMing a try with a familiar setting and custom rules for a lighthearted fun campaign for friends is all.
