Just cause you don't get to pick the body type doesn't mean they half-assed the customization. The amount of outfits, hair and face options have just been growing since Gen 6, and S/S doesn't show any signs of slacking there. The trailers have had a good amount of unique outfits visible in the raids and they haven't even gone into customization yet.
