If you load up Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire into Advance Map, go to map bank 27, map number 27.0, you'll see a 1x1 map. Nothing special about that, right? This map is actually the upper half of Route 104, and it was playable in Japan back in 2002 at the Pokemon Festa event. You can see the it here:

Not only are the trainers still there, but they still have text/battle data associated with them. I'm in the process of restoring the map somewhat and seeing if all the NPCs are fully functional.
