The Pokémon Games are now being held in Vermilion City. Ash, Goh, and Koharu are invited by Dawn to participate in a Ping Pong Tournament. Apparently a Pokémon who traveled with Ash and Dawn before also appears
-Pidgeot and Pidgeotto! Reunion in the Forest!!
Goh’s Pidgeotto is inspired by Altaria, and wished to be like it one day. Suddenly, Pidgeotto evolves into a Pidgeot and Goh is surprised to learn this. When Ash saw this, he thought of his own Pidgeot.
-Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp!!
Prof. Oak calls Ash one day to say that his Gible is acting very strange. Ash and Goh go to Oak’s Lab after a long time. Once there, Gible suddenly evolves but contrary to Ash’s excitement, he is upset. Gabite has not accepted its new appearance and strength but Cynthia just so happens to show up.

Ash and Goh visit the Hisui Festival in the Sinnoh region where they run into Dawn. However Dawn is in a bit of a bind, as Piplup and Quilava keep fighting and run into the forest. Then suddenly a mysterious space time rift opens in front of Piplup, and Dawn who runs after it gets sucked in.
