Kalos. I'm not memeing, no bullshit, I think it's a perfectly designed region for a multitude of reasons.

Probably the biggest reason is Luminos City.
Say what you want about it's size and how easy it is to get lost in but plopping it in the middle of the map does fucking wonders in making the game feel less railroad-y by giving the player and easy chance to backtrack and get get hidden items/catch Pokemon they couldn't before.

Also I just like how every route has it's own gimmic/theme. Like no joke you'll never see a route in this game that feels the same as the last one. It's even exemplified by the fact that every route practically has it's own landmark.

>Route 6's tree lane with Pokemon the jump out of the bushes and tall grass outside the path
>Route 7's Battle Chateau and the fact it's a prime egg hatching road because of it's straight ass road
>Route 12's Skiddo Ranch
>The badlands
>The swamp
>Lost Hotel
>Everything about Routes 18 and 19

Add onto the fact the game has little features the mesh the gameplay with the environment you're in (like how you can interact with background objects in battle to get rare berries and items, or how pokemon cana ttack you from hanging from cave cielings, jumping from bushes, and chasing you down from underground) makes Kalso genuinely one of the most interesting regions to be in. Alola is a close second really.
