and I guess the stats are generally a bit high in general
I think it’d be best if current sandslash became a NFE in the mod, with the following base stats:
75 HP
108 ATK
110 DEF
25 SPA
60 SPD
72 SPE
same BST as it does in vanilla at 450, it just had some wasted base stat points in special attack moved to speed and attack (and a bit in special defense)
basically a more offense oriented counterpart to its icy cousin
as for the fire, fairy, and <insert typing here> variants, their stat spreads can be determined later
for the fully evolved version maybe a BST of 540 might be good, with distribution being based on form
anyways if anyone remembers the edgyverse threads’ attempt at making concepts for their own region I’ll point out that someone there (hint: me) came up with a sandslash regional form to inhabit the region’s obligatory “desert area” aka swamp
i’ll find the full details later but basically it was a water/ground variant adapted to swimming in swamps as an ambush predator preying on small fish and insect pokemon, with brown & green scales, barbed claws, webbed fingers, and a long harpoon-like tail
picrel is a somewhat crude sketch of it
so I guess nothing stops us from recycling this good idea to put in rejuvenation’s swamp area - sheridan wetlands
