>He probably just need more edge.Red isn't edgy at all. Outside of battles, Red gets along with people about as well as Ash does. Smiling, laughing, and having fun with other characters. Even Sugimori art depicts Red's relationship with his Pikachu in a similar light as Ash and his Pikachu. "Edgy" Red will always be headcanon. The only difference is that Red doesn't talk as much, but that may just be the result of Red being older. Who knows if an older and wiser Ash might adopt a similar "words are unnecessary" mantra, but that isn't the same as being edgy.
