>>42446874>The partner cannot be badWhat about a fake out where you don't initially get to pick your partner, but you are lead along by a non-starter pokemon (changes and depends on what type your pokemon ends up being, always has type advantage over yours) who claims to be your "partner" but you know something isn't right with him/her. You continue with him/her and get tricked into helping with a crime. The two of you are found by an Explorer organization. The fake partner abandons you and leaves you in bad condition. The organization takes you in for questioning but sees you're badly harmed and gets you to help. While you wait in their infirmary you overhear a conversation where another pokemon defends you, thinking you may not actually be a criminal after all.
You "imagine" (customize) what this pokemon might look like, and this ends up being your real partner.
That's just the beginning story/chapter, but the bigger plot is akin to the Detective Pikachu movie, where now some humans have figured out a device that allows them become pokemon. You are related to this experiment as the first "test subject" of it. This would be the first PMD where you actually travel back into a human body (you can customize) to stop the device from allowing evil humans into the world of pokemon disguised as pokemon. The human world gameplay would be different than dungeon crawling. In the end, the big bad turns himself and a select few of his remaining cohorts into a legendary pokemon and minor enemies respectively, and
you have to dungeon crawl multiple rooms while they're attacking in order to reach the device that will send them back as humans. It breaks before you can get everyone back, the remaining human-pokemon panic, & ur partner gives a transdimensional speech on why everyone should seek peace and be happy with themselves and where they are instead of looking for a better place to be.u choose whether to be human or pkmn at the end
