All those who were aware of FRLG but didn't actually play it haven't been red pilled and supplement their memories of the region with the anime.
Sinnoh may not be the best region, but shit did wonders for the series lorewise and has some scenery worth expanding upon or even rewriting in Gen 7's image.
Even the box legendaries if not their realms can be worth a rewrite here and there. There can even be an Ultra Space hook to the Distortion Realm since typing-wise Guzzlord can be a threat to Giratina.
Kanto has you childhood and Team Rocket. Even if you had shit to do unlike HGSS, it still isn't as awesome as you remember.
