I'm not a personal fan of translating all of the game mechanics into Cloververse either, but I can tolerate it as long as it doesn't get to the point of including stuff like "I survived the attack thanks to my Endure ability!", or Reviver Seeds both existing and auto-reviving like in the games, meaning that there would be no reason for everyone to not go around carrying a full bag of them.
For TMs as the other anon pointed out, other authors have already included them so it is already kind of established. They seem like a major point in this story, but I feel like they aren't the character's main goal there so I don't mind it so far.
I do agree that the
"move randomizer" does feel weird as it is portrayed as them kind of selecting a "move slot" only to realize the move there is changed. I'd say that something like the dungeon temporarily messing with their memories to change the moves they can use would be better.
