It wouldn't be balanced at all in this game, and in Gacha games it always ends up a money waving contest.this is a common criticism, and it's not exactly a bad thing. the only way in-game content in a game like this can become a meaningful level of challenging is fairly contrived – it will nearly always boils down to 'do you have the right unit(s) right now or not?' – whereas pvp, whether direct 1-on-1 skirmishes (the battle system would need an overhaul, seems unlikely) or indirect via leaderboard rankings, is more natural. you're not competing solely against an artificial ruleset but against other players in the same situation as yourself.
yes, it'll still ultimately come down to a scenario where the guy spending the most cash is the winner, but, fuck you, i want to win
