Clothed an entire region of people when climate change suddenly uprooted their civilization. To honor it, the descendants of these people let plants grow as they please in their new region.
Traditionally, in the spring, crafting an article of clothing out of leaves yourself is a sign of love, and what you craft shows what kind of love that is (cloak = protective/parental, belt = platonic/sibling, crown = romantic/want sum fuk).
"Wearing the crown" is a euphemism for romantic entanglement there.
