I quickly numbered the towns for the order the player visits them to complement flow but even then its far from perfect what with town 1 and 11 having a Surf connection. My map flow could work if the route between 11 and 1 was cut or at least blocked until post game.
>>48068426I see where you're coming from with tonal mess and I kind of agree, but the track has potential. If it was to be lower in pitch and the accordion was replaced with something a bit harder like a bass guitar or keyboard it would be immediately improved. The opening few seconds are really good but the horn that follows feels like a little bit of an anti-climax. A saxophone instead might improve this and make it sound a little less impotent.
I really like what you do at 1:08 with the keyboard becoming more sparse, it really changes up the tempo of the music and gives the battle a less whimsical feel (which im guessing isn't the vibe you're going for. It feels like you've taken more inspiration from the older games) though the keynoard leading up to that part I feel is a little too much, the same can be said for much of the track.
In short, it has a lot of potential but I think it needs a little more edge to it as well as being stripped down quite a bit. I listened to it three times and I couldnt hum along, its too complicated.
