Roll, and then pick your types from the last two digits. Each digit gives you two choices, and you can pick which type of the two you want to use. Dubs is stuck with both types of that number.
>0 = free pick
>1 = normal or flying
>2 = fire or water
>3 = grass or electric
>4 = rock or ground
>5 = steel or dark
>6 = psychic or ghost
>7 = poison or bug
>8 = ice or fighting
>9 = dragon or fairy
So if my last two digits were 34, I could be grass/rock, electric/rock, grass/ground, or electric/ground.
Once you have your types, give your gym a theme that merges both types as naturally as possible. Try to give yourself a team appropriate for the 5th gym leader, but you can also make a postgame team for fun.
Unless no pokemon exist with the type combination you got, you must make your ace a pokemon of your given type combination.
And (optional) give your badge a name + a fitting TM reward.
