>>18984559The problem is that we have different priorities for the game, some that Gates did really really well, and some that it doesn't stand up to it's predecessors.
That makes the game ridiculously polarizing. I, for one, love the game.
I liked how literally everything levels, and you can get lucky with almost anything. (The games uses the RNG a lot to make things unique, not just dungeons.) The story was written better than the others. (Though it was far less engaging than Sky.) The music was beautiful, and the graphics were great. You also get barran land as a canvas you can do whataver you want with, build shops and dojos... Build minigames, paint them, level them up, etc... This actually gave you a reason to continue past the end of the game.
Though aside from this, the game has some glaring flaws like the lack of Pokemon, Day 1 DLC, (Which doesn't add story, so you shouldn't feel compelled to get it.) it was much shorter than previous games, and post-game was short. (Like X and Y) Also since everything can grow more powerful, you can become incredibly strong, much more so than your foes, which can make the game monotonous if you don't use the Level reset dungeons. (Pic related, as it's something I did a while ago.)
Bottom line is, I think it's worth it, but read the above and decide for yourself if you want the game or not. We all have different opinions, asking us won't really get you anywhere.
