>>50170117It’s not inane or immoral at all, it’s really cute and really romantic, even when the Pokemon isn’t altered from its canon form. It’s like The Shape of Water, but kid friendly. It’s like Tarzan, but even cooler because the wild love interest is a different species. It’s as sweet and innocent as the writer or artist wants to present it. There isn’t anything inherently wrong with it.
Also, Pokemon do humanlike things frequently. They do hold human hands, they can have human jobs, they can cook and clean, they can play instruments, and some even talk. I’m not sure if they’ve been shown going to the movies, but that wouldn’t be the craziest thing they’ve done, and marrying a person wouldn’t be either.
This is why it’s completely fine and there’s nothing wrong with it.
