Guess its some classic "Sugimori drew a totally different design during the gen and they just used it for the one after" as GS sprites don't look like that at fucking all.
And gen 3 had a weird fetish for reusing gen 2 stuff.
Which means gen 2 lance doesn't really have any artwork, i guess the headshot from Stadium might count? It weirdly gives him metal shoulder guards.
The sprite is definitely not this design though.
