dragonite and goodra
-
(pseudo-legend dragons that drop more interesting, non-plushie pre-evolutions' themes for a huggable Barney-like final evo and have a partial water-related motif throughout (goodra with mucus and rain, dragonite with its prevos literally being sea serpents))
unfezant (esp male) and swellow
-
(normal/flying regional birds with smug demeanors and an emphasis on fancy red plumage (although admittedly this is a bit of a reach, it's been stuck in my head for a while))
golisopod and volcarona
-
(big awesome bugs with one hard-to-raise, much smaller prevo with secondary typings that oppose each other and x-shaped pupils (alongside looking like they should be pseudos and not being pseudos))
dewgong and sealeo/walrein
-
(ice/water seals with a lot of white on their designs that are almost entirely ignored thanks to their prevos (Seel being pointed at for being lazy and stupid, Spheal being pointed at for being "le wholesome spherical chonky boi"))
lucario and zoroark
-
hardcore furry shillmons with opposing black-centric color palettes, one prevo, and some sort of special power that sets them apart from most other mon (aura sensing, illusion capabilities). also both technically dogs, and fit a hero-villain dichotomy so well that not a single fucking fan story made by a novice ever tries anything else
and some (You)s for posts I also agree with
>>50829150>>50830026>>50828275>>50829142haven't got art of any of these pairings in particular aside from the furries (and even that's a technicality), sorry
