pokemon has much more going for it as a series than many other more popular titles.. I've been playing cards since base set and the games since red came out and took over my school
plenty of my friends know that I play & sometimes even drive to collect my event pokes, and that I will attend midnight releases of games
once I forgot it was release night for Super Smash brothers brawl when I just showed up to a party and had to have my lady friend drive my drunk ass to the game store to pick it up at midnight
