The excuses of animations or dev time is just a clever way to further divert attention away from HOME as the true culprit. It's no different than the tactics those scummy infomercials use to make you think you actually need the product they're selling when you're more than likely able to get the same thing at the supermarket.
They would NOT have emphasized being able to transfer your Pokemon to your kids if it meant they were still going to be sperm cells in PokeAutist's decrepit testes. Many news outlets were using this to advertise the damn service.
Bank could have and easily would have been on Switch. We know the cut was meant to happen in Gen 7 and the lack of National Dex is proof of that. It's likely they were still conceptualizing a second service at that time which is what leads me to believe that's why things went down the way they did.
Even if you just call all of this corroborated evidence some schizo conspiracy theory, the fact remains that they're purposefully driving traffic in the games towards HOME in order to entice sales. There is absolutely no reason they wouldn't have put the GTS in the game or on the Switch app otherwise.
