I guess they need at least one episode showing off all of Rotom's formes per series. DP's was fine, and a decent spin on the "Ash and co. walk into a haunted house but forget Ghost type Pokemon exist" archetype. The XY version was...interesting, but also the third haunted house episode of XY. Dunno about BW's.
SM's though involves Rotom getting shocked out of it's Dex casing and switching places with a Rotom-Wash before traveling through the powerl ines to other appliances throughout Melemele. Nice little scenes with the characters I actually care about. It does raise the idea that certain Rotoms are only meant for certain appliances, which wasn't the case in DP or XY. Apparently in Alola, some Rotom are retarded and don't know how to function in different devices. Ash's Rotomdex is the only one that knows how to talk like not a retard. It's very interesting, but just let Porygon out of prison already for fuck's sake.
