Brionne losing the poll doesn't mean everybody else hates it. It just means more people like the other ones more than it. There are plenty of people who also likely like Brionne; just not as much.

You can argue the issue of the gender ratio, but keep in mind that the gender ratio is simply a game mechanic thing. if you were to honestly take the species itself, it's unlikely that the gender ratio would be so skewed in a world setting.
Simply remember that the 87.5% male ratio is only in regards to the game mechanic and to make it a bit harder to simply breed starters the first chance you get
