>>45190351That's because you ignore the fact they try to have realistic (to their world) creatures. Unironically they DREW "le elemental animal" designs then ditched most of them because they were "le elemental animal designs" and didn't work with what they'd envisioned.
I'm sorry they couldn't salvage your beta, but the fact is there was a LOT of designs in Gen I/II that were off and of them, they salvaged whatever they could going forward.
