>>35437903It might be just anecdotal, but BW were the first games I actually enjoyed playing since gen 2 and after some introspection I realized that they offer really similar experiences to the first ones, mainly the fact that you only deal with brand new Pokemon during your journey.
I believe that most people who appreciate gen 5 were around for 1-2, but like most of those people they still place the originals above 5. People who grew up with RSE and DPPT can't have that perspective. Hence little gen 5 love overall but some great discussions around it.
