I unironically like replaying these better than emerald.
I really hate how padded out emerald feels with all the extra battles (about 150 more trainer battles), the much wonkier level curve (especially after the 6th gym) and the unnecessary story additions. Not to mention stuff like contests not being available until lilycove, making them feel like an after-thought, and making Wallace the champion, which is probably one of the worst changes they've ever implemented for a third version. The literal only thing emerald has going for it is the BF, which is admittedly fucking awesome, but I consider that separate from the main campaign which I would argue is much better in RS.
Anyone else feel this way?
