if you want some tips, fletchinder is a great pokemon that ignores the field's built in hazards
nidorino is also a good choice due to its poison resist and immunity to being poisoned, especially if you were lucky and the static encounter had sucker punch, a priority move that ignores seviper's glare. most non-grass starters should have the power and bulk to brute force enough of it for the rest of your team to clean up, but special mention goes to marshtomp which gets a STAB ground move.
