Gen V is still my favorite. Being able to only use new Pokemon was very refreshing, as was an actual attempt at a story. Then there's the great music, the NPCs that aren't just obstacles, the new typings, the buffing of bugs,and a very pretty region. Gen VI felt like a step down in everything except the graphics.
