>>30301008Did this when ORAS came out. My brother and I wanted 'second starters,' so I bred up a 5IV Aron for myself and a 5IV Carvanha for him, then I traded them into the games as eggs as soon as it was possible.
It was so much fun traveling through Hoenn with my Broggron, especially during the Champion battle. I gimped myself for the fight because everything had been so easy up to that point (Rock Head Head Smash from the start of the game and everything...). Set style, and I forbid myself from healing items for the fight.
That battle became a beautiful slugfest - Steven KO'd one of my pokes, I'd KO one of his. I managed to get two in a row and turn the tide, but it still came down to Metagross vs Aggron. We both mega evolved at the same time and had the most evenly matched trading of blows I've ever enjoyed, but ultimately we pulled through.
And then the credits sequence showing the pokemon I used for my story progress showed every poke I used (including ones I eventually boxed), as well as my bro as an Aron, Lairon, and Aggron. It felt absolutely magnificent.
And of course, I could still use him battling online. Hnnng.
