This idea was backed with "the story doesn't matter", "the meta can stand by itself" and "look at CoD". One person actually suggested they just drop you into the world and say "catch all pokemon" and story done as a way of setting up the game. And then you just roam and try to find the items you need by randomly talking to NPCs.
