As a drawfag, I might feel a bit more pressured to finish if I'm thanked before I've even started. Usually it doesn't make any difference though, what really matters is the thanks afterwards. Nothing is worse than spending lots of time drawing something for someone, and then getting no kind of response whatsoever. I'd rather take a flat out negative critique than nothing at all. (by critique I mean telling me what's wrong with it, useless insults are never good)
If I'm picking a general request that wasn't directed at anyone, then I don't care what other things you wrote in the request as long as you're not being an ass.
