So one of our themes is the past and the future. So I was thinking each mon could have either a move or ability that could be unlocked, one representing their past primordial self and one representing their future advanced self. Not entirely unlike the idea of primal forms I guess. There could be an endgame item or location that lets you unlock them
Could be as simple as letting you choose between two hidden abilities with the aforementioned in game lore.
