>>47576982Giratina is anti-matter. That literally cancels out any regular matter it comes in contact with. That's why I believe it was more about the newly formed Giratina not knowing how to coexist in the world it was birthed into. So Arceus created a place for it to learn. This would explain why you didn't die the moment you entered the Distortion World, as well as the land you walked on. It was all the attempts to prove that it was ready to return. This also explains Giratina's forms, as more legs equals more stable. Unfortunately, Arceus went into hibernation mode and poor little Giratina was left abandoned and forgotten. This is why Giratina seised the opportunity to stop Cyrus we he weakened the dimensional barriers.
Now this is pure headcanon, but I have long held the belief that Giratina had been planing this escape for a long time through Cynthia. A lot of the research Cyrus would have used would have come from her. Possibly directly. It's not like she ever really tried to stop him. Her familiarity with the Distortion Wold is also questionable. She leads you in, showing you the way straight to Giratina. Even tells you that it wants to 'fight'. The fact she even knows Giratina exists is proof enough, as it is quite literally forbidden knowledge. All of this to find the perfect vessel. One both strong enough to free Giratina, and pure enough to stand before Arceus. As I'm sure Giratina has a lot of questions after spending an eternality in purgatory.
