I was really poor when gen I came out and couldn't aford a game boy. My parents didn't let me watch the anime but I loved it and loved every second of the few episodes I could watch. All my friends liked pokemon and played it and all I had was my collection pokemon tazos that came in the sabritas. Then gen II came out and saw a friend playing it on an emulator on a computer at school. It was cool as fuck and I asked him to give me a copy on a floppy disk but I couldn't open it and I didn't know how to use emulators so I couldn't plat, and none of my friends would teach me. I lost interest in pokemon until 2007 when a friend was playing Sapphire in his gameboy and he lend it to me. It was awesome, and when I came home I downloaded an emulator and played Gold, then Ruby. Then I bought a ds and Diamond and have since been playing. But everytime I pretend that I started playing pokemon when I was a kid in the 90s, even thoug I actually started in high school.
