>>51154326I mainly take issue with the creator’s interpretation of the central city of the game, Mesagoza. They caught that it has a lot of resemblance to Barcelona, but there’s other elements to the city itself and I wouldn’t really compare it to Cordoba or Ciudad Real at all aside from being in the south. Cordoba is very Islamic in its architecture and we don’t see much of that at all in Mesagoza and Ciudad Real isn’t even next to a river (or if it is, it’s a really small one that doesn’t even show up on Maps).
The city is obviously named after “Mesa” which is a flat, raised surface that you mainly see in the Americas (I think of the USA Southwest when I think of mesas) and -goza, the second part of the real life city name “Zaragoza”, which was a Roman town originally called “Caesaraugusta”. Mesagoza’s modern-medieval theme resembles Zaragosa to a degree, but I think the geography more closely resembles a city in this area of Spain a little more than 300km or close to 200 miles to the north of Cordoba- that being Toledo.
