I work for Nintendo Land and for our product Pokemon Generations, thank you your enjoying. When you think of media items in Japan, without a doubt, you think ah yes, there's Pokemon. For that reason the Pokemon anime is very popular.
However this product Pokemon Generations, you may think to yourself, something is different isn't it? Truly, we see Pokemon Generations takes place in a separate world from the Pokemon anime. So, even though Pokemon anime is in Japan very popular, maybe, maybe this new product is not popular. That's the kind of feeling we get.
Pokemon Generations has many high pressure scenes and memories are filled in them. So at Nintendo Land we of course enjoyed the Japanese voice version with all or favourite voice actors included in. Western audiences might not understand but, in Japan, this voice acting is very adored. So, there are many voice talent who don't appear in the long running Pokemon anime because of their fame and cost for production. But you think, Pokemon Generations, this anime is short isn't it? So, we were able to enjoy all these voice actors. This is similar to the animated trailer collaborations that we remember with fondness.
However looking at Pokemon Generations we thought - ah, yes, this is great, and you are able to have nostalgic feelings and the voice actors are very skilled, but - after all, it doesn't have the feeling of Japanese popularity, does it? Japanese popularity is something different from this. We at Nintendo Land may enjoy it, but maybe for Japanese audience, it's not successful. So we do not plan for the release of this version.
However, after all, that's a bit unsatisfying, isn't it? This is why we release for Western audience instead. As always Pokemon is worldwide knowledge, so Pokemon Generations can go out into the wide world of Pokemon outside Japan, like many Pokemon that are traded. Thank you for understanding.
