A lot of things related to Sinnoh have been really popular: Piplup, Croagunk, Lucario, Dawn, Cynthia, the anime season is consistently rated one of the best, it introduced online, and it was the best selling of the nugens until the ridiculously successful Switch games came about. Piplup is right behind Pikachu and Eevee in how much merch it sells. DP is objectively one of the more loved games.
