The people who like the monkey are probably mostly women, my whole family is into Pokemon and the males all like Scorbunny/Sobble, all the women like Grookey/Sobble, myself included. It's because he's got chubby limbs, he excites that 'cute baby I need to hug and nurture' response. The mischievous thing also really tickles women more than men or boys. My little bros like the bunny because, in their words, "He looks fast and powerful, he just like charges in there super speedy, he's a tough guy." They like Sobble because "He's a cool lizard and he shoots water."
The bunny is the least appealing to females because of its intense energy and the long limbs/long ears dont let it have a babyish feel even if its cute. Sobble is a case of "Uwu its so sad must protect" basic bitch "I must protect his smile" tier thinking.
