>>18367133This thread makes me wonder; what pokemon, one on one, could handle the most enemy types in a single go? What could survive the longest in your game?
You have to deal with an incredible amount of strategies; from stalling to status to substitutes to simply sheer brute force, what pokemon could survive?
1. You'd have to take status into account. If you get put to sleep, burned (for physical), poisoned or confused or infatuated, any of these could reduce your chances.
2. Typing. Offensively and defensively. Being an ice type, for example, would not end well. Having a 4x weakness would probably not save you either. Some types are blessed; electric types can't be paralyzed, while it's difficult to do the same for ground. Steel has the most resistances and is immune to toxic, but has weaknesses to the most powerful offensive typings of all. Poison types can hit through Fly/Dig with Toxic, and can't be poisoned either. Flying is immune to the one of the most powerful physical moves, while weak to many of it's complimentary coverage types.
3. Movepool. But not just 'blah blah huge movepool', although being Lilligant or Flareon (sorry :<) would put you in a terrible position. You get four moves, and each of them must serve a valuable purpose. Any move that is dead weight will help end you.
Some things to consider for your moves:
-Recovery
-STAB
-Coverage
-Status
-Multi Hit
-Accuracy / perfect accuracy
-Boosting moves
-Priority(?)
-Secondary Effects
-Recoil
