There aren't many episodes left in the anime and we will have other things to consider like Ash vs Tapu Koko, School graduation and Ash's reasons for going to Galar (albeit they could pull an XY/SM and have Ash just get a reason in the next series).
The Galar anime will include all of the regions, including Alola, so maybe we will get a conclusion regarding Mohn in the next anime when we see Alola again? We don't really know the specifics of what is happening with the next anime.
