>>42980608>Then again, if you didn't like Gen V because it wasn't innovative enough i imagine you didn't like Gen VI through VIII eitherWell, yes, but actually no. As stated, i enjoyed X/Y for a multitude of reasons. I guess the most obvious one is that it was the Series first foray into full 3D, a very big draw no matter how you put it. Also mostly because Pokemon is a simple franchise that benefits more from the Big Picture rather than the little details. And that is what the innovations X/Y introduced did right:
>Absolute best online experience in a Pokemon game. Chances are that this is where the brunt of the Total Gameplay falls into, so i'm glad they did it so well>The Meta changes (in the form of M-Evos) were front and center. Conceptually retarded, but wonderful from a gameplay perspective and a breath of fresh air for the seriesI expected just B/W in 3D because they'd have to Model, Rig and Animate nearly a thousand different models for Pokemon, Trainers and Landscapes alike, basically i expected them to do what they ended up doing in SW/SH and saying "MAKING GAMES HARD! THIS GAME ONRY FEATURE 300 POKEMON!" but for their 1st foray, they actually went way further that i expected:
>Making all Pokemon available in the game>Bottom screen was finally useful again! Housing the previously talked about PSS and lots of neat flavor>Pokemon Amie was something so neat that they could've withheld it as a killer feature in future versions of the game, but they added it anyway. Best Pokemon oriented feature yet>Simplified Meta team building by making stats and info more visible and even making a neat-looking new Mini Game to let anyone be able to max their stats easily>Even introduced better ways to grind like Horde BattlesIt overall fixed most of my gripes and gameplay-wise, felt like it imitated more from D/P phylosophy, which was a good thing.
