>>21312942I shouldn't expect less. It's not Dragon Guardian-tier OP, at least.
>>21312733Okay, so fortunately, the shortcut in Vextra Forest that I thought I'd need an HM for is suddenly open so the journey is only about a third of the length as it would be.
We go east of Guardia, and to the north is a castle blocked off by the Knights. Not the Knights of Something, just the Knights.
To the east is Low Point Path, an icy route. A sign warns me of freezing temperatures, and surely enough a shower of spikes get me when I walk too far, though a house with free healing rescues me.
There's a guy who sells me a "Cold Scarf" that prevents it from happening for $3500, which is actually a lot of money because, I haven't mentioned this yet, every item seems to have doubled in price or more.
While I normally dislike ice paths in general, I actually found this route to be
fun just because it was simple, had trainers at reasonable levels with reasonable teams, and didn't have any edgy Legendaries or anything.
At the end of the route I find two surprisingly normal-looking people claiming to be part of Dark Organization holding the Elemental Master hostage. Ranger Rival appears to bail me out, then the Knights appear from the other direction to block them off, and I prepare for a fight...
Only for the E.M. to grab me by the arm and run off with me to safety while they battle offscreen, and I wake up in my house. Aw.
Stopping for the night, I'll tackle the third Gym tomorrow.
So far the game has mostly just been really boring. For a long time there weren't even fucking trainers, and it was mostly just listening to dialogue that all sounds the same about how everyone feels worried about their future and shit. Twice so far I've been pulled away from fighting D.O. But, things feel like they're picking up a little, despite that one spike when the Fakemon was introduced. Can't wait for it to fall back down like I know it will.
