And? In order to apply every characteristic of real animals to those OVER the actual text from official sources then they HAVE to be 1:1 to animals which you already said you allegedly don't agree with. Not to mention the zukan stated they are outside traditional evolutionary tress meaning they can't obet any traditional classification(as for the animal-based pokemon to be animals you'd have to AT LEAST be able to classify them as animals, even if you don't know everything about them).

If you are here today, you probably have a strong interest in the creatures known as pokemon, or already even own one of them.

Before getting into this discipline, I was purely interested in the study of life.
"How did organisms evolve?, where do humans come from?"
These are the questions biology, or rather, the evolution theory should answer.
That person, what did you say? Oh, so "Isn't evolution explained by Darwin's natural selection theory?" you ask. Well, for a young man you sure are informed. I used to have the same opinion.
However, as we examine the evolution of life, we discover more and more organisms that fall outside the evolution tree, and the misteries of new life forms deepen.
