Probably as a result of Ruka's inexperience as a trainer or the fact that she coddles him. However due to his incredible bulk and calm mind/slack off its hard for most pokemon to put a dent in him. And once he is good and ready he unleashes devastatingly strong psychic and surf attacks. Ruka has learned to just go with the flow and often uses slowbro as a chance to take stock of the battle and calm her nerves. Therepudic tank.
>ArcanineWall breaker/all arounder: Arcanine uses its natural intimidate as well as its access to roar to intimidate opponents pokemon into losing momentum. It attacks with both extreme speed and flamethrower for priority and high damage respectively. He provides a much needed sense of balance to Ruka's team, not excelling or underperforming on any particular way.

>LedybaThe only bug pokemon Ruka likes. It's a Ledyba though so i don't need to tell YOU he's not good for battling.
>GloomPrior to evolving ruka's strategy is different. Basically just uses Glooms powerful stench to gross out the opponents pokemon and while they're distracted hits them with a petal blizzard. Surprisingly effective.
