It seems to me that the reason there was so few Pokemon in XY and SM (or at least there given reason, we both know GF is full of shit) was because there were so many Pokemon to port over from previous games. There were over 150 new Pokemon in BW, and a full national dex, and more explorable areas, and every single area had only newly added Pokemon. Also, I don't mean that there is no area that follows a theme, I mean that there are some areas that don't (like deserts) There was just less care put into these games, and less content. This isn't me outgrowing Pokemon, or an opinion either, this is fact that can be verified.
